Dan Spalding's father Peter served in the United states Navy and spent his youth traveling the four corners of the world  before finally settling in Suffolk, VA in 1999. Dan began his career with Nansemond Lawn and Garden, inc. as an irrigation tech the summer after graduating high school in 2004.  Dan  worked installing and maintaining irrigation systems as well as assisting with landscape installations for a year and a half before taking a job with Newport News Shipbuilding. Dan was accepted into, and graduated from,  the apprenticeship program in 2012. After completing the apprenticeship Dan was an employee at Newport News Shipyard for ten years, six of those years were spent in a supervisory role. During that time he married Wayne Mansfield’s daughter and Blake Mansfield’s sister Mary-Kate in 2011. He re-joined the Nansemond team as a business developer and  in 2016 and has since expanded his role in the company to include estimating projects, developing and continuing business relationships and assisting in managing projects. He now has 2 daughters that keep him busy and enjoys participating in officiating high school and pop warner football in Southeastern Virginia.
